International Day of The Girl Child is celebrated on October 11 and is dedicated to the growth of girls around the world. This year, the theme has been set as “Digital generation. Our generation,” acknowledging the growing digital world and how a digital gap can also widen the gender gap. According to the United Nation, the COVID-19 world saw businesses, education and parts of healthcare services moving online. In this regard there is need to focus on bridging the gender digital divide across the world by creating provisions for the girl child to access the digital space. In light of the above Envision Zimbabwe Women’s rust joins the world in commemorating the day of the girl child.
